  • FIAC lineup here with 40 new galleries and a design section. I don’t hear great feedback from galleries about FIAC so hopefully this will shake things up a bit
    (19 – 22nd October)

  • Met attendance is up, 7 million from 6.7 million (37% international and 30% from New York. This is a record attendance figure

  • Kusama’s Infinity Room All the Eternal Love I Have for the Pumpkins (2016) Acquired by the Dallas Museum of Art and Rachofsky Collection, and will be going on view in October (lucky bastards)

  • The possessions of Viven Leigh (AKA. Gone With the Wind’s Scarlett O’Hara) at Sotheby’s 26th September

  • Remember the Knoedler Art-Fraud scheme? Well Glafira Rosales (the ‘mastermind’ behind it all) is ordered to pay $81 million to the victims. 

  • Phillip’s Jean-Paul Engelen is moving up to Deputy Chairman, Americas (from worldwide co-head of 20th Century and Contemporary Art…which he will continue to oversee with Robert Manley)

  • Christie’s: Giovanna Bertazzoni and Adrien Meyer named Co-Chairman, focusing on 20th century

  • TEFAF: New Chairman Nanne Dekking taking over from Willem van Roijen (whose CV includes Co-founder and CEO of Artory and Vice Chairman/ Worldwide Head of Sales Sotheby’s New York)
